Me and my sister attended a pottery class with Jenny and had the best time! We got one on one help for the whole two hour session and were able to make 4 or 5 different clay designs each which, with the help of Jenny, turned out a lot better than we’d expected! Jenny was really friendly and helpful - it’s a great relaxing weekend activity, and suitable for people of all ages and abilities. We also got to take away our two favourite designs that we had made which were cast in the kiln - we had the option to paint them too (all included in the price). We would definitely recommend

Just finished Jenny’s 5 week pottery class and it was honestly one of the best/most wholesome experiences. I threw around 12 pieces and decided to keep 7 to paint and glaze. Over the 5 weeks we learned to throw, carve, centre, etch, paint and glaze. The studio space is so comfortable and Jenny (and Tim!) are able to provide great 1:1 support, tailoring help to your specific needs - but fully letting you take control of your pieces. I got the opportunity to try multiple different shapes and designs, with direction from Jenny on how to achieve this. She was also great at explaining the process behind what we were doing, which overall allowed me to build up my pottery skills. It was a very supportive environment, and a genuine joyful 2 hours that I looked forward to every week - would highly recommend if you’re interested in learning how to do pottery or if you have done a few classes before and want the opportunity to make multiple blows and mugs!

I took the five week long pottery throwing class with Jenny as a fun class for over the Summer and it was amazing! Jenny and Tim were great, and they made it such a lovely, relaxing and inviting environment. Having never done any sort of pottery or throwing before, it was completely beginner friendly. Although throwing was pretty tricky to begin with, Jenny was there all the way to teach and help with troubleshooting when things got a bit wobbly, but still remaining pretty much hands off to allow us the responsibility of being in charge of our own creations. We were given explanations for techniques and why they were important to the process was really interesting to hear and made the course a really accessible way to get into throwing even with no prior knowledge of it. I was able to make 7 items, three mugs, three bowls and a little pot, which I thought was incredible value for money - especially being able to say that I made these items completely from throwing, thrimming, pulling handles, attachting handles, underglazing and glazing the items. I would highly recommend for anyone interested and looking for a fun and relaxing way to spend an afternoon out of your week or even as a gift!

My girlfriend and I had the best time throwing and painting our own mugs and bowls! Jenny was such a good teacher, supporting us and letting us have fun and make some mistakes on the way to figuring out how to do it all. We really loved that once she'd shown us how it was done that we could throw as many things as we wanted to in the time - learning to throw is so much about feel and it was really great to be given the opportunity to start to figure out how it should feel. We had great fun coming back to paint our mugs and bowls looking over some beautiful countryside. So incredibly cool to have mugs and bowls that we've made from start to finish!! Would recommend this highly - such a great experience and such a lovely and supportive teacher!!

My daughter bought me a voucher after meeting Jenny at a craft fair, so we both went to her wheel throwing class. It was great fun and Jenny worked hard to get us something useable. One thing I would have liked was a chance to mess around with a bit of clay to see what happened if you pressed too hard or in the wrong place! I guess that could be wasteful though. The painting was so relaxing and Jenny was so helpful with the colours and glazing. We ended us with 2 functioning mugs/pots each so we were very happy!

My partner and I visited Fernweh pottery for a mug making workshop as a weekend date activity. Jenny and Tim were so welcoming, and when we entered their beautiful studio space I immediately felt relaxed and like I could shut the outside world out for a bit. The process was so enjoyable as we were both complete novices and you were able to really get creative when painting. I kept mine very simple but there was time to go all in on your designs and Jenny and Tim had some great printouts for inspiration. I would recommend to anyone looking to do something mindful and fun for a few hours, in a beautiful location :)

My girlfriend and I did a wheel class in January, and went back to paint the mugs in February. Loved both sessions, Jenny was a great teacher and we both got plenty of time to practice, make some mistakes, and end up with mugs we're really happy with. We'd recommend!
